Fujifilm Instax Square SQ6

This version of Fujifilm Instax is the one that was launched first from the two discussed in this article. The following are the specifications and highlights of the Fujifilm Instax Square SQ6;

  • The picture size shot from this camera would be 2.4 inches x 2.4 inches, giving you a perfectly cute size to carry around and attach anywhere.

  • The lens used in the devices is retractable lenses with two components and two elements, with f= 65.75mm.

  • The viewfinder of the square camera is an Inverted Galilean finder that is 0.4x with a target spot. The focussing is depended on the three modes used which are Normal mode (0.5m - 2m), Macro Mode (0.3m- 0.5m), and Landscape Mode (2m and beyond)

  • The three modes are explained as follows- the Double Exposure mode, Macro mode, and Landscape mode. The double exposure mode lets the camera overlap two photos in a single film when the shutter is clicked twice. The Macro Mode can capture photos as close as 30cm and the Landscape mode is meant for photos to be taken from a long range.

  • The shutter release is programmed in the camera which is 1.6 seconds - 1/400 seconds.

  • If you want the camera to automatically adjust the exposure, you can opt to use the feature called Automatic Exposure Adjustment whenever needed.

  • The camera comes in three colours, so you have the option to choose any that satisfies your aesthetic.

  • The film feeding out is automatic, and it takes approximately 90 seconds for the film to develop after the shot. There is also a self-timer to make things easy for you.

  • The Selfie Mode also enables you to automatically adjust the required focal length and brightness for capturing adorable selfie images as Fujifilm Instax Square photos.

  • A tripod socket also comes with the camera but the tripod is sold separately in case the buyer finds the need for it.

  • It weighs around 400g and the size dimensions of the camera are 118.7 mm x 128.1 mm x 58.1 mm.

  • It is extremely user-friendly and works like any other traditional polaroid camera, but with its features, the experience is enhanced.

Fujifilm Instax Square SQ1

The SQ1 Fujifilm camera is a revised and updated version of the SQ6 and with it comes to a lot of features that have attracted a lot of traction. If you are new to the camera and is planning to weigh your options, below are its specifications and benefits;

  • Most features stay the same because they are a revised version of the SQ6 camera. But there are a few changes of features made in this version, which can make quite a difference for the users.

  • This Fujifilm instant camera is a tad bit bigger in size compared to the older version, and it weighs around 500g. This although, does not make it any less satisfying experience and result while using it.

  • The size of the photos developed stays the same as the SQ6 version, which is 2.4 inches x 2.4 inches. The camera will deliver around 300 shots on a pair of CR2 Lithium batteries.

  • The Fujifilm Instax SQ1 is a completely automatic camera and does not require any manual control. Therefore, the mode switch, manual focus switch, and other manual switches have been eliminated to make it user-friendly for the buyers.

  • When we talk about being automatic and user-friendly, this version is also taking away the power switch. You can switch on this camera by just twisting the lens barrel. Yet another twist can activate it to selfie mode. There you go, super easy!

  • This version of the Instant camera does not have some of the features SQ6 had, and they are; self-timer mode, a tripod mount, advanced shooting mode, and manual flash controls. The reason for this to eliminate these features is because they wanted to make this model a lot simpler.

  • Instax cameras are known for their super funky colours, and through the SQ1  they have launched more aesthetically pleasing shades like Glacier Blue, Chalk White, and Terracotta Orange. They have introduced pastel shade versions of it in this Fujifilm Instax Square while the SQ6 version had more metallic colours.

If we compare both the Fujifilm cameras, there is not much difference except for a few which rolls down to your requirements. If we are asked about which camera is better, we would say both because of its unique features and your personal needs. The Fujifilm Instax SQ6 is an elaborated square camera with all the features for you to manually control and navigate. The newer version has made it more user efficient and while eliminating a lot of switches to make it less complicated.
