Lumix G VARIO 100-300mm / F4.0-5.6 / MEGA O.I.S Micro 4/3rds Interchangeable lens

An ultra-zoom lens that stops hands-shake blur

Drawing subjects in from a distance, this ultra-telephoto zoom lens is ideal for capturing intense action sports or subjects you can’t usually approach, like animals.

An ED lens in the first lens group corrects the colour bleeding that can occur when zooming, so top performance is consistent over the entire zoom range.

The inner focus system teams up with a process that shifts a pair of lenses to enhance focusing, making high speed contrast AF and excellent rendering at all zoom levels possible.

All these advantages are in addition to MEGA O.I.S., an optical image stabilising system that corrects the slightest hands-shake for clear, blur-free shots even at full zoom.

MTF Chart

For the lenses distortion compensation available, the horizontal axis of MTF is the distance from the center, which is compensated accordingly.

Lens Construction

MEGA O.I.S (Optical Image Stabiliser)

Designed to compensate for hands-shake ‘blur’, the MEGA O.I.S’s internal LSI compensates by processing the output of the gyrosensors at approximately 4,000 times a second. What you see in the Live View Finder or LCD image is what you get in the shot (especially effective when using a zoom lens).

Multi-coating Process
In addition to a standard broadband anti-reflection coating, Lumix G/Leica DG lenses reduce the reflection of light entering at an angle. Widely used on fisheye and ultra-wide-angle lenses, this coating greatly improves results when shooting against a light source, resulting in high quality images with superb clarity.

Extra-low Dispersion Lenses
Extra-low dispersion (ED) lens corrects longitudinal chromatic aberration in the zoom setting, and chromatic difference of magnification at the wide angle setting. The result is greatly reduced contrast degradation and colour bleeding, with both telephoto and wide-angle zoom lenses delivering sharp, high-contrast images with clear colours from corner to corner.
