Lumix G Vario HD 14-140mm/ F4-5.8 ASPH./MEGA OIS Micro 4/3rds Interchangeable lens

Perfect for HD movies:  a 10x optical zoom that takes you from wide angle to telephoto

This high-powered zoom lens extends from 28mm to 280mm (35mm camera equivalent).

Two ED lenses and four aspherical lenses correct a variety of aberrations, helping to render high-contrast, high-resolution images without false colours or distortion from corner to corner across the entire zoom range.

The auto-focus system features a linear motor and inner focus system that makes it fast, accurate and virtually silent (ideal for shooting HD movies). A micro-step system for the aperture drive further suppresses noise and makes HD movies easier and more comfortable to shoot.

For the lenses distortion compensation available, the horizontal axis of MTF is the distance from the center, which is compensated accordingly.

Lens Construction

Aspherical lenses
These lenses prevent spherical and distortion aberrations, so higher magnification can be achieved with fewer lenses. Resulting in smaller size and weight, these lenses feature the high dimensional accuracy of Panasonic’s cutting-edge production technologies, including concave lenses that measure just 0.3mm at their thinnest part.

MEGA O.I.S (Optical Image Stabiliser)
Designed to compensate for hands-shake ‘blur’, the MEGA O.I.S’s internal LSI compensates by processing the output of the gyrosensors at approximately 4,000 times a second. What you see in the Live View Finder or LCD image is what you get in the shot (especially effective when using a zoom lens).

Extra-low Dispersion Lenses
Extra-low dispersion (ED) lens corrects longitudinal chromatic aberration in the zoom setting, and chromatic difference of magnification at the wide angle setting. The result is greatly reduced contrast degradation and colour bleeding, with both telephoto and wide-angle zoom lenses delivering sharp, high-contrast images with clear colours from corner to corner.
