  • Incorporates Image Stabilizer (IS) technology for sharp images at slower shutter speeds (2 stops slower)
  • 2 IS modes for panning and static shooting
  • 2 UD (Ultra-low Dispersion) elements correct aberrations and deliver excellent definition and sharpness
  • Ultrasonic Motor (USM) for high speed, silent autofocus

    Telephoto Lenses

    Compact L-series telephoto lens with an Image Stabilizer which compensates for camera shake with the equivalent effect of a shutter speed two stops faster.

    Two Image Stabilizer modes are provided: Stabilizer Mode 1 (the same mode featured on the EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM) and the new Stabilizer Mode 2 which steadies the image during horizontal or vertical panning.

    Mode 2 detects the panning direction automatically. The closest focusing distance is 1.5m.

    Note: With the following cameras, the Image Stabilizer does not operate when Extender EF 2x is attached to the lens: EOS 650, 620, 630/600, RT, 700, 750, 850, EOS-1, A2/A2E, 10s, Elan, Rebel/Rebel S, Rebel II/Rebel SII.
