The 12-megapixel MOS sensor and the Venus Engine excel in image processing for both sensitivity and speed. Newly developed Multi-process Noise Reduction technology applies optimum noise reduction, with both high frequency the dark part of an image and low frequency in the light part suppressed. As a result, images recorded in low-lit situations are now dramatically clear. The Venus Engine image processor has a quad-circuit system for processing large amounts of progressive full HD data at high speed. This not only allows smooth Full HD video recording, but also allows the DMC-FZ150 to shoot super fast consecutive shots at 12 fps (without auto focusing) and 5.5 fps(with auto focusing) in full resolution.

The dynamic wide-angle zoom lens has the power to perform

The DMC-FZ150 features a phenomenal 24x *optical zoom in both still and video recording. This powerful zoom capability is perfect for wildlife, sports and holiday photography because it brings even the finest details in so close that you will feel as though you are standing right in front of your subject. The outstanding telephoto results are boosted by the 25mm ultra wide-angle lens which encompasses about twice the shooting area as a standard 35mm lens. This means whether you are taking a group shot at a party or photographing a sweeping cathedral, you will have no trouble getting everything in the picture. The powerful zoom can also be increased to 32x equivalent with the Intelligent Zoom function - taking advantage of the Intelligent Resolution technology which maintains the picture quality even using digital zoom.

Capturing those priceless memories, whether they’re still images or moving footage is no problem for the DMC-FZ150. The Leica DC Vario-Elmarit lens benefits from Panasonic’s Black Box Nano Surface Coating technology, which results in a super clear image with a dramatic reduction of ghosts and flare. Image quality is even further enhanced with Intelligent Resolution technology. Three  areas - outlines, detailed texture areas and soft gradation areas - are automatically detected and the camera performs optimum processing to each, to give the whole image outstanding natural clarity, down to even the finest details.

Make a movie masterpiece with Full HD movie recording

The FZ150 is an advanced photographic tool for recording not only great photos but also high-resolution Full-HD 1,920 x 1,080 50p videos in AVCHD Progressive (MPEG-4 / H.264) format. By upgrading the full HD recording capability from interlaced to progressive, subjects with fast motion or fine detail are reproduced with even greater clarity. The AVCHD format features almost twice the recording time in HD quality than the conventional Motion JPEG and makes viewing easy with your VIErA HDTVs or Panasonic Blu-ray Disc recorder/player. A special, dedicated button lets you instantly start recording videos while shooting photos without having to make any extra settings. Movie recording in AVCHD features Dolby® Digital Stereo Creator for highly realistic stereo sound to the video. The mechanical noise caused by zooming operation is suppressed for greater clarity and a Wind Cut function is also available to block out most background wind noise.
